SOME SUGGESTIONS FROM SEAN:

REFLECT ON YOUR CULTURAL STUDY TRIPS / THINK  HOW THEY MIGHT INFLUENCE YOUR DESIGN.

MAKE MULTIPLE MICRO MODELS, EXPERIMENT WITH MATERIALS / ALLOW THE MATERIAL TO PERFORM.

SEE WHAT HAPPENS RATHER THAN WORKING TOWARDS A PREDICTED OUTCOME.

MODEL YOUR LOFT AS IF YOU HAD TO BUILD IT.

PRODUCE SOME DESIGN SHEETS TO COMMUNICATE YOUR IDEAS CLEARLY:

WHAT IS DIGBETH LIKE? LOCATE THE SITE.

HOW CAN YOU FULFIL THE CLIENT'S NEEDS? FANCIER AND PIGEONS.

RECORD YOUR PROCESS / FAILURES AND SUCCESSES.

PROMOTE YOUR PREFERRED SOLUTIONS AND WHY.

Pavillion by FTL Happold

It is portable despite being quite large. Steel truss frame and PVC polyester canopy. I like the way films can be projected on the walls.

Large bicycle parts, components of "La Bicyclette Ensevelie" (The Sunken Bicycle) by Claes Oldenburg,
recessed into the earth provide a whimsical character to the park.

Marguerite bike parking by Yoann Henry Yvon Lopez
 Bike Racks by  Adeline Thong

I though that these two bike racks are rather interesting as a shape and and design, and could also create a bit more dramatic feeling to the place where they are found. Also they are both space consuming and at the same time can provide bike parking for quite a few bicycles.

precedent - Amardeep Dulkoan

For My precedent i have looked at a pavilion designed by Zaha Hadid and which was installed in Millenium park, Chicago USA. This pavillion was designed to house a multimedia instilation and the pavillion is composed of an aliminium structure which has been shaped an welded together to create its unique curvy structure, with a outer and in skin wrap around it. also the inner skin of the structure acts as a screen for prejection of videos to take place.

In relation to the design intevention for the cycle pix, from above the shape of the pavilion is like a bikers helment. By taking the concept shape of a bikers helmet, i could creat a small kiosk/ souvenir shop or an indoor area where the is a cafe and where you can watch the cycle pix race from projections on to the wall.

For more information on the design of Zaha Hadid's pavilloipn, folllow the link below:

Peter Walker - Burnett Park

Peter Walker is an American born Landscape Architect. He has developed many beautiful and successful landscapes in both America and around the world.

Peter Walker was lucky enough to redesign Burnett Park. The park contrasts the greenery of the lawn with a grid of raised granite walkways.

thought i would share this video, its a london ride i went to last year, nothing like the tour de france but i would like to include other styles/uses of bikes to also be in the cycle prix to appeal to more people and to create a better atmosphere

Precedents - Sophie

Danish Pavilion is a symbol of modern lifestyle, the building was designed as a double helix with pedestrian and cycle route takes you from the ground and through the curves.
I liked this design as it allows people to see the view of the city whilst cycling/walking. Also it has a modern design which is what I want to include in my project.
